This historic, circa 1840's Abbey Holmes House was moved in March 2002, amazingly all in one piece, back from its location close to Route 9, turned 90º, and placed on top of a huge, freshly dug basement. With the addition of a copper-roofed, state of the art kitchen, giant conservatory, with soaring ceilings and two glass walls overlooking a formal garden, this catering house will surely become a place to behold with awe.

An 18-hole championship course, Shore Gate opened in May of 2002. It is a unique combination parkland and Scottish-links style design carved from more than 245 acres of pristine forest. It sits on an ancient dune beach, only a few miles from the Atlantic ocean and features dramatic elevations and rolling terrain not normally associated with the Jersey Shore.

Belleplain Emergency Corps, Inc. purchased the small building in front of the existing rescue Squad building 3 years ago. After a cultural and archaeological survey was conducted, it was determined the age of the building is approximately 1890. In the 1960's, Dot and george Wheaton ran a small deli from the building. Today, it is being renovated for a state of the art communication center to better serve the residents of the surrounding communities.
